“Elijah’s Coin: A Lesson for Life” is the story of a man named Tom whose life was on the fast road to nowhere. When he meets a man called Elijah, his life turns around and he’s given a small coin. Inspired by his meeting, he wants to find Elijah much more, and finds that his savior has quite the legacy - for both helping people and elusion. A story of gratitude and sometimes the problem of looking too closely, “Elijah’s Coin” is a fine novel of humanity, a strong choice indeed.

Midwest Book Review.

Steve O’Brien has written an excellent book and one everyone should read over and over.  His description of the characters and events are vivid, colorful and full of adventure.  “Elijah’s Coin” is a very thought-provoking book of change.  It really will make you look at who you are, what you want and where you are going.  It’s not about you–it’s about giving, sharing and loving unconditionally.

Elijah’s Coin is a short book with a simple message: “Give to Get”. But as I have personally experienced, sometimes complicated people need simple messages. Mr. O’Brien’s style is very convincing and adds a thrill to the story, which makes it that much more interesting. There are a lot of life lessons to be taught but it takes a skilled writer to show us, students the right way to learn them. And I think that Steve O’Brien accomplished this task….. One thing is certain: the book has a lot of spiritual depth and core messages contained within it are meaningful and important. I would definitely recommend this book, whether your life is just peachy at the moment or an absolute hell. It may open your eyes to something that was right in front of you all the time but you simply refused to see it.

Tom’s first line, “One hour from now I am going to change my life forever.” is definitely true and the story pulls you right in. Elijah is intriguing right the moment we meet him and until Tom figures out what is really going on I was all over the place with my theories.
There is a more depth to this book than a great story. It truly has a valuable message and in the end I felt that the book was actually able to teach me an important lesson also. This book is perfect for young adult readers and I feel there is a good possibility it will touch their lives in a deeper way too. As an added bonus the book comes with two of Elijah’s Coins. One for you and one for someone you can share the message with.

This book was so powerful, I felt as if I were the one living the message. Everything was so thought provoking, and strong, I couldn’t believe one person could come up with something so deep. There were so many twists, turns, happy, and sad moments. By the time I finished this book, I was left deep in thought, just thinking about it for myself, and what it meant for me. I don’t think there are any words out there to explain how deep, and emotional this book reached. I believe it has changed me in a way, only you can discover by reading it for yourself. Watching Tom develop into a totally different person that once turned to crime to avenge everything bad in his life, into a person that gives, cares, and puts time into other people, not himself, was very interesting. There were so many powerful quotes in this book, I wrote some of them down, hoping to memorize them. You will definitely be enlightened by this powerful, meaningful book, it will amaze you God didn’t write it himself.  I highly recommend this to anyone.

Elijah’s Coin delivers an uplifting message with enough drama and magic to make it an entertaining and exciting read. It’s a heartwarming tale of redemption, forgiveness and the power we all have to make a difference in someone’s life. Author Steve O’Brien uses great storytelling and clever props to illustrate his overriding lesson — the more we give, the more we get back – and urges readers to spread that good word.

Elijah’s Coin is a book for all ages. Young readers will find true wisdom and those a bit older will be reminded that, “There is a difference between those who act and fail and those who fail to act.” That we can all make a difference if we remember just a few of life’s basic lessons.

Elijah’s Coin, written by Steve O’Brien, is a story of pain, confusion, hope and finally redemption and serenity…This story is spiritual, moving and incredibly hopeful. It is about finding your way in your life, even if you don’t want to anymore. It’s about finding the good in people, but more especially, it’s about finding the good in you…The author has written a wonderful, wonderful story of possibilities and love and I absolutely devoured this book.

From the beginning of the story where you meet Tom and what he does, to the end where he’s a totally different person with his life worked out, you just get sucked into the story and want to keep reading it until the last page…The story is well developed and you have a sense like you are getting closer to the characters and they could just be people you lived next to, because they are just so real!
